Fresh off a vibrant and highly successful inaugural Zembo Moto-E event held at Xtreme Adventure Park Busika, Zembo has once again demonstrated why it remains Uganda’s pioneering force in electric mobility.

The landmark gathering brought together riders, industry leaders, motorsport enthusiasts, policymakers, and the general public to celebrate innovation, sustainability, and the accelerating shift toward clean transportation.

Since its founding in 2018, Zembo has consistently led the charge in Uganda’s e-mobility sector. What began as a bold vision to electrify two-wheel transport has grown into a robust ecosystem with over 2,000 deployed and active electric bikes operating across the country. The company’s rapid expansion reflects both technological excellence and deep understanding of local mobility needs — from affordable financing models to reliable after-sales service and an expanding network of charging infrastructure.

The Zembo Moto-E event, organized in partnership with Rubis and other key stakeholders, served as both a celebration and a strategic engagement platform. Attendees experienced thrilling electric motorcycle demonstrations, test rides, technical workshops, and capped it with a rider and staff race. The atmosphere was electric — quite literally — as riders raced each other on the tarmac with the Winner walking away with 300,000 UGX and other prizes.

“This event is more than just a gathering; it is a testament to the incredible journey we have undertaken together with our riders and partners,” said James Obrawoski, CEO of Zembo. “ We witnessed the passion and commitment of our growing community. With over 2,000 active bikes on Ugandan roads, Zembo is proving that electric mobility is not just viable — it is the smarter, cleaner, and more economical choice for our nation. We are incredibly proud of what we have built since 2018 and remain fully committed to expanding access, creating jobs, and driving Uganda toward a greener future.”

The Moto-E initiative highlighted Zembo’s role as an emerging market leader. By fostering direct dialogue with its rider ecosystem, the company continues to refine its offerings based on real user feedback. Partners like Rubis underscored the importance of collaborative ecosystems in scaling electric mobility solutions nationwide.

Industry observers note that Zembo’s achievements come at a critical time. With rising fuel costs and increasing environmental awareness, electric two-wheelers are becoming the preferred option for boda-boda operators, delivery services, and daily commuters. Zembo’s bikes are engineered for Uganda’s demanding roads, offering durability, long battery life, and low maintenance — advantages that are translating into strong rider loyalty and rapid fleet growth.

Looking ahead, Zembo plans to accelerate expansion into new districts, introduce advanced models, and deepen partnerships that support infrastructure development. The company’s vision extends beyond individual bikes to transforming Uganda’s entire mobility landscape.

As Uganda embraces the global transition to sustainable energy, Zembo stands tall as a homegrown success story — proving that African innovation can lead the continent’s green revolution. With over 2,000 bikes already making a measurable impact on emissions and rider economics, the future of mobility in Uganda is undeniably electric.
