Ugandan businessman identified as Andrew Leju, who is a business associate of popular events promoter Balaam Barugahara, was on Monday afternoon allegedly kidnapped by gunmen in Juba, South Sudan.

Sources reveal that Leju was picked up by gunmen on Saturday night and taken to an unknown destination.

All his mobile phones have since been switched off and efforts by his family members and colleagues to trace trace his whereabouts have been futile.

We have established that the Ugandan police and their counterparts in South Sudan have already embarked on a man hunt for Leju.

However, the kidnappers have not revealed why they kidnapped Leju or demanded any ransom.

By the time of filing this story neither the police nor businessman Balaam had issued a statement about Leju’s kidnap.
