Tier IV microfinance institutions have been recognised for their critical role in expanding access to affordable finance for women entrepreneurs across Uganda.

Speaking yesterday at MOTIV Creations, Bugolobi, during the launch of the Strategic Capacity Building Conference for the Association of NDT Microfinance Institutions, Mr. Moses Kaggwa, Commissioner for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, called for stronger governance and leadership within the sector.

The conference, held under the theme “Built to Last: Governance, Leadership and Transformation for Sustainable Tier IV Institutions,” focused on building stronger and more sustainable microfinance institutions.

Mr. Kaggwa encouraged participants to strengthen their governance structures and leadership systems to enable their institutions to grow sustainably while continuing to serve women entrepreneurs with accessible and affordable credit.

The conference was organised in partnership with the GROW Project, Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, and the World Bank.
