Arrested ADF IED Expert Captured Reveals Master Plan

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), in the ongoing operation, codenamed “Operation Shujaa”, apprehended a commander of the Allied Democratic Forces terrorist group known as Anywari Al Iraq, also referred to as AA.

Anywari, an expert in Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), hails from Busia district in Eastern Uganda.

During the operation, the following items were seized:n one sub-machine gun (SMG),45 rounds of ammunition three walkie-talkies,One RPG charger and an assortment of improvised explosive device (IED) making materials.

Additionally, four children and five women were rescued in Ituri province in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

The rescued children and women are receiving basic medical attention, and arrangements are underway to transfer them to a better medical facility.

The joint forces continue to pursue the ADF terrorists from all directions in their areas of operation.
