Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president Col (Rtd) DR. Kizza Besigye has said he will not contest in the coming 2026 general election but instead mobilise masses to throw out of power the NRM regime. Besigye argued that it is meaningless to continue participating in what he described as ‘sham’ elections organised by President Museveni and that it is time to get rid of Museveni.
Besigye made these remarks at the funeral of fallen former Makindye West MP Hussein Kyanjo, who was buried Sunday at Ntuuma Village in Bukomansimbi District.
The deceased succumbed to colon cancer at Kibuli Muslim Hospital in Kampala on Saturday
