The Remains of fallen Commissioner of Police Christine Alalo have been laid to rest this Friday at her late husband’s ancestral home in Kitwe, Ntungamo.

CP Alalo was among the 175 passengers who died in an Ethiopian Airlines crash six minutes after taking off from Addis Ababa earlier in the month of March 2019.

In a statement released by A-PLUS Funeral services, Alalo’s vigil was held at her Seeta-Mukono residence on Wednesday and then after her remains were transported to Ntungamo on Thursday and burial on Friday.

She will be buried at Kitwe village in Ntungamo district, an ancestral home to her late husband. She survived by two sons, Alvin and Emmanuel.

Alalo’s remains took the government of Uganda and Ethiopia seven months to be identified after she was involved in Ethiopian airlines in March 2019.

Alalo died on March 10, 2019, aboard Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 which crashed moments after take-off from Bole International Airport Addis Ababa, on her way from Italy, where she had gone to attend a Gender Protection Course. She was destined for her duty station in Mogadishu, Somalia via Nairobi.

At the time of her death, Alalo was head of the Uganda Police team attached to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM)
