Man Nabbed With Firearm & Explosives At Kisenyi Bus Terminal

Security personnel at Kisenyi Bus Terminal in Kampala arrested a man carrying a sub-machine gun and other dangerous items during a routine search on December 4, 2024. The suspect, identified as David Tumwine, was detained after security found a firearm, ammunition, pangas, petrol, and ropes in his luggage.

The incident occurred around 9:00 AM when terminal staff flagged Tumwine for inspection. Recognizing the potential danger, they immediately notified the police, who arrived promptly to take over the situation.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, commended the terminal staff for their swift actions. “Their vigilance and quick decision-making likely averted a serious threat,” he said.
