Uganda Police and military deployed heavily around Kampala city as National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential Candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert was meeting Electoral Commission Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama and his team.

The meeting came after Bobiwine suspended presidential campaigns citing excessive security brutality against his supporters.

Bobi Wine’s official car was destroyed when he approached Jinja town. His vehicle was riddled with bullets that forced his tire to puncture, as the police held him from what one of the officers described as an “unmarked” route to the assembly.

It occurred a few minutes after several injured people were recorded in Kayunga district where even Bobi’s immediate police escort, ASP Kato, was shot in the eye, and another person known as Daniel Oyerwot aka Dan Magic producer. The duo was urgently transported to Mulago Hospital when we filed this report.

After receiving complaints from NUP,  Electoral Commission  responded positively to Bobi Wine’s request to hold a meeting with the EC chairman over what he termed an imbalanced campaign ground.

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango assured Kampalans that the city was already secured, safe and encouraged people to continue their daily business activities with out any fear.
