Sad: Former National Boxer Zebra Ssenyange Gunned Down

Former professional boxer and Uganda Bombers captain Zebra Isaac Ssenyange ” Mando” has been shot dead at his home in Bwaise(near Eden Service Park) in the wee-hours of Wednesday morning.

At the time of his death, Zebra was Uganda Boxing Federation Head of General duties.

The deceased wife’s Mercy Ssenyange revealed that the suspected killers knocked at their door pretending that they were seeking some help and when they opened , they immediately gunned down her husband in the chest.

“This is really painful for us a family, sports fraternity. We don’t why such heartless people decided to kill my husband in this way? ”, she said.

During his reign,Zebra featured prominently in the super heavy fights before he graduated to become a full professional.

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango when contacted said that police have started hunting for the yet to be identified killers.

Uganda Boxing Federation President (UBF) Moses Muhangi posted: “I am saddened by the brutal passing of MY MAN, My friend, My Everything. Till we meet again. RIP Zebra.”

Sseruyange’s body is currently kept at Mulago City mortuary for postmortem report.
