Former miss Uganda contestant and the only female aspiring for the country’s top seat, Nancy Kalembe hasn’t been nominated because she has no proof of payment of Shs 20m.

“There was a delayed payment somewhere. For that I take full responsibility so tomorrow we will be back to bring back the documents,” she said.

Asked what inspired her to contest with Uganda’s top army generals, she said that Uganda has not had a female president meaning it has not had a mother.

She adds that Uganda has also not been able to have a civilian president. “I represent that,”

Earlier, one aspirant, John Katumba was also turned away for failure to pay the non-refundable ssh20 million nomination fees in the bank.

He cited lack of a Tax Identification Number (TIN) as the reason for failure to pay but was advised to return after paying the amount.

Gen. Mugisha Muntu Gregory earlier became the third presidential aspirant to get nominated after earlier nomination of NRM’s Yoweri Museveni and Henry Tumukunde who came as an independent candidate.
