The youngest presidential hopeful John Katumba’s nomination has been deferred after failing to produce proof of payment of the UGX 20 million.
While speaking to the media,Mr Katumba said that he had come with the money to pay directly to electoral commission after he had been frustrated by banks which requested for Tax indentification number ‘TIN’ which he never had.
“I have tried several times to consult EC to find the way how they could receive shs 20M but all in vain”he said.
Earlier on,Katumba gotten a flat tyre while on his way to Kyambogo Cricket grounds where he’s set to be nominated at 2pm.
The 24-year-old, realising that he would not make in on time, hoped out of the Super Custom car and sprinted to Kyambogo- literally running for the Presidency.
Katumba’s Super Custom car, that had a sticker (showing he was cleared by the Electoral Commission) got a flat tyre at Spear Motors Junction, which is roughly 15 minutes away from Kyambogo (on foot).
Katumba was among the 10 aspirants verified and cleared by the Electoral Commission having garnered the much needed signatures (98) from each district.
