Min.Adoa Distributes Motorcycles,Surveillance Kits To Locust-Affected Districts

The Minister of state for Fisheries Hon. Hellen Adoa represented Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries at the handover of 23 motorcycles and 106 surveillance kits to 23 District Local Governments in Northern and Eastern Uganda.

The project targeted areas that were affected and at risk during the Desert Locust Invasion.

The items are part of a larger consignment received from Development Partners during the regional resource mobilization exercise led by the FAO. Items distributed today were specifically from JICA& FAO.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adoa thanked the development partners for their unreserved support to the government of Uganda and advised the district leadership teams to remain vigilant in the preparedness efforts towards Desert Locust Control.
