The commander in chief of armed forces President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has transferred Maj Gen Jack Bakasumba from Uganda police back to UPDF as the acting Chief of Staff Land Force.
Maj Gen Bakasumba, who has been the chief of joint staff for the Uganda Police, replaces Brig Bob Ogiki, who has been promoted to Major General and appointed 2nd Division Army Commander.
Ogiki replaces Maj Gen Francis Takirwa, who has been appointed the acting Deputy Commander Land Force.
The changes were announced on Wednesday, 07 December 2022, by the President, who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces.
Brig Bob Ogiki, who has been promoted to Major General and appointed 2nd Division Army Commander.
For the Chief of Staff Land Forces in the UPDF is therefore the principal staff officer who reports directly to the Commander Land Forces and is also responsible for routine matters in management but also works with the Joint Chief of Staff on logistics and finance.
