Min.Anite,UIA Tour Namanve Industrial Park, Applaud Lagan Dott’s Performance On Infrastructure Development

The state Minister for Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite has commended Lagan Dott a company which was contracted to improve infrastructure in the industrial Park for tremendous work done so far.

“I am quite impressed, i saw the place when it was really swampy and bushy but now it has got the tarmac which are standing on right now, am also impressed that the contractor is going to channel all the water here in the wetland through River Namanve to Lake Victoria. The biggest problem we are in a water land and we need to co exist with nature.”remarked Minister Anite during the inspection of the industrial Park on Tuesday.

The Minister also noted that some natural calamities like Covid19 delayed this five year project to the extent that its now at 40 percent completion rate.

“The total cost of this project is 215 Million Euros and we are now left with one year to have it completed. As the minister for investment together with team member of Uganda Investment Authority , we have decided to come for fact finding mission on the project so as to find means of having it completed without attracting any fine.”

Anite therefore added that she has no doubt that Lagan Dott will do whatever is possible to finalize this work with in the stipulated time frame.EngBamanya Andrew representative of Lagan Dott (Contactors ) assured Ugandans that having concluded the largest percentage of project, they will finalize it before the deadline.

“We started this work in June 2020 and this was a design and build project. We spent one year of this project in understanding the environment , interests of the existing factory owners and their needs requirements , after which we started execution.”

Bamanya further added that the most sensitive part of the project has been the environment and they have been able act upon its needs to avoid flooding in the future.

Uganda Investment Authority team was led by director general Robert Mukiza.

Legan Dott is company which was formed by UK Company Lagan Group Limited and Dott Services Limited.

In this project Lagan Dott was assigned with the duty to develop Road Network, water distribution, under ground sewer pipes ,Solar lighting , CCTV Network , fire fighting and solar street lighting within Namanve Industrial Park.ugs
