The prayers which were attended by various NRM Party Leaders, Religious Leaders, ONC District and Regional Coordinators and members of the public, recognized the strong will and support from God in ensuring that the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs. Janet Kataha Museveni completely recovers from the terrible Covid-19 attack.

The first lady was attacked by the COVID-19 virus during the Christmas break while at their country home with her family in Rwakitura, Rushere Town Council, Kiruhura District.

The thanksgiving prayers were led by the Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe.

He thanked the Bazzukulu National Coordinator for continuously embracing the fear of the might Lord/Allah while doing the various assignments under the Office of the National Chairman.

He observed that, for all this time, the First Lady has been a true mother of the nation through her fear of the Lord and a true flag of Uganda whose more motto is “For God and My Country”. The man of God recognized that it is for this fact that the Lord ensured that she recovered from the deadly disease to keep the flame of integrity and God-fearing burning among the citizens whom she has led by example.

Rt. Rev. Ahimbisibwe observed that God has granted Hon. Maama Janet more time to accomplish her set mission for which unity and togetherness are supposed to be at the top.

In a function attended by various dignitaries of the NRM Party, the District Woman MP for Rwampara District, Hon. Molly Asiimwe; a known close confidant of the First Lady for her part recognized that with the strong will exhibited by Maama Janet, she has been able to improve on the education infrastructure of the country such as the growing list of Seed Secondary Schools through her concerted diplomatic efforts to attract funding from various donors.

This she also attributed it to the fact that the Lord has maintained the First Lady in good health and with this recovery, Ugandans should expect a lot more accomplishments as she resumes her duties.

On her part, the National Coordinator of the Bazzukulu political group who also doubles as head of the Office of the National Chairman, SPA/PA Hadija Namyalo Uzeiye thanked the members who were able to make it to Kyambogo Gardens on short notice for the Thanksgiving prayers.

She committed to the people that leadership through God-fearing will continue to take the centre stage while in the Kyambogo office and for that matter thanked God for quick recovery and continued good health for Mrs. Janet Museveni who in turn ensures that the NRM National Chairman is always at peace while steering the country to great strength.

Ms. Namyalo informed the masses that the ONC foot soldiers were on their knees from the time the National Chairman broke the news of sickness and indeed the Lord has answered these prayers and healed Maama Janet, the revered mother of the mighty country Uganda. To this end, the Bazzukulu are committed to continued prayers for a full recovery and the ability to return to the National duties she has sacrificed her entire life to perform.

The Head of the ONC tasked Maama Janet to use this time to strengthen the hold on the State House, because with her, the President, who happily announced her recovery on Monday 1st January 2024,  has done his job ably while sure that the mother of the nation is in charge hence the need to have her around for many more years.

This ceremony was massively attended by members of the NRM CEC led by the Vice Chairman for Buganda Region, Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda; Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Leaders from KCCA, the NRM Secretariat and other government top leadership.
