Uganda has on Friday May 28, recorded 12 new coronavirus cases – 5 drivers and 7 contacts to previously confirmed positive drivers.
According to the Health Ministry, Uganda’s cumulative total of confirmed cases has now risen to 329.
5 positive Cases were truck drivers out of 1,492 samples tested from border entry points and all the 7 positive cases out of 436 samples contacts were under quarantine at the time of testing according to the ministry of Health.
Today, 29 May, 2020, 12 new COVID-19 cases confirmed bringing the total confirmed cases to 329.
5 new cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu border
7 cases are contacts to previously confirmed cases. All were under quarantine at the time of test.

The ministry further explained that 25 positive foreign truckers were handed over to their countries of origin.
A total of 1,928 samples were tested on Friday.
