Wakiso DPC On Spot Over Kuwe’s Family Land Grabbers

Wakiso District Commander Afande Abraham Tukundane has been put under scrutiny after failing to effect a court order to set free Kuwe Foundation land from grabbers.

In a letter dated September, 7, 2021, the LPPU instructed Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander to read carefully, verify from the genuine court and implement the court order if information gathered was genuine.

This website has further learnt that the letter was forwarded to the Regional Police Commander Kampala Metropolitan/North with instructions to implement the court order professionally.

However, the family is disappointed that even after several reminders, Wakiso DPC has declined to Kuwe’s family.

Kuwe Foundation’s complaint on conduct of unruly Police Officers

The family alleges that officers may have connived the land grabbers and accepted a piece of land as donation to them so as not to implement as instructed by court.

Meanwhile we’ve further learnt that the family of the late Earukana Kuwe contributed to the success of the NRA war that brought NRM Government  to power in the following ways.

Police reminders to the DPC Wakiso who’ve since Failed to implement the Court order

With the help of the late Dr. Samson Kiseka, an NRA base was set up on kuwe’s farm during the struggle. This was intended to enable the fighters have access to food supply.

On this farm the NRA fighters fed on cows, eggs & crops on the farm. One of kuwe’s sons called Sserwano Kiwanuka joined the NRA freedom fighters and fought along side Sam & Gertrude Njuba.

Kuwe was hunted by the opponents of NRA & he fled & was exiled in kenya where he stayed for 5years, leaving the NRA fighters at his farm. At the peak of the struggle in 1986 his son, Sserwano Kiwanuka died in the struggle leaving behind 5 orphans.

On returning from exile at the end of the war, Kuwe re-set up his farm, raised income & educated serwano’s orphans. Kuwe did not manage to get compasation for his cows eaten by the NRA freedom fighters.

It is upon this back ground that Kuwe’s family is grieved because the same farm / grounds that fed the NRA freedom fighters has been admired and taken over by UPDF soldiers on gun point. These have defied all court orders & are un touchable.

The Kuwe’s family alleges that when Kassim Bainomugisha first took over their land forcefully in October 2020, he had in his company goons hired from Kisenyi & Kawempe slums.

These had pangas & iron bars and they manned the quarter guard that he had put in place. He later sent them agents asking for 300million ugandan shs so that he would turn against those he had started selling the land to.

The family did not comply to this demand. After blocking all avenues of help for the Kuwe family, Kassimu through his agents went ahead to ask the Kuwe family for 1 bn ugx so that he would destroy all the structures that his clients that he had sold to were trying to set up.

Kassimu created his own LC stamp, a stamp different from the legally known stamp & hood winks ugandans that he sells the contentious land.

The Kuwe family alleges that Kassimu and his team have on several occasions tried to threaten the family members’ lives by having drones go after any one who tries to follow up the matter. This it is alleged that he tried to kidnap family members as a way of bringing them to give up on their land for fear of losing their dear lives. It is also alleged that Kassimu has tried to bribe all the lawyers that the family has engaged to help them.

Several reminders from lppu have been sent to the dpc wakiso asking him to implement court orders but he has always created an excuse of being sick, lacking man power and un available in office.

It is said that Kassimu says that he grew up in an under privileged home & can not look on as other people seem to be more privileged than him.
