Tehran, Iran — Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah, who was killed in a tragic incident in Beirut on September 28, 2024.

In a solemn message, Khamenei praised Nasrallah as a distinguished leader, a scholar, and the symbol of Resistance in the region, mourning his loss while highlighting the enduring strength of the movement he led.

In his heartfelt tribute, Khamenei described Nasrallah’s martyrdom as a testament to his lifelong commitment to defending the oppressed, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine.

Nasrallah had dedicated his life to protecting the defenseless people of Beirut’s Dahiya neighborhood and standing up for the Palestinian people, whose land and homes have long been under occupation. Khamenei said Nasrallah’s reward for his decades of service and sacrifice was the honor of martyrdom.

“The great Mujahid of the Resistance, a virtuous scholar, and a wise leader has now ascended to the heavens. His blood will further strengthen the Resistance, and his path will not end with his martyrdom,” Khamenei said.

He emphasized that the values and vision Nasrallah championed will continue to guide the Resistance Front, drawing parallels to the legacy of Sayyid Abbas Mousavi, a previous Hezbollah leader who was also martyred in the line of duty.

Khamenei condemned the Zionist regime for the atrocity, stressing that it has not achieved any victory through this act.

“The Sayyid of the Resistance was not just one man, but a path and a school of thought, and this path will continue,” he affirmed.

Khamenei also reassured that the Resistance Front would now strike back with greater resolve, declaring that the Zionist regime’s oppression will face even stronger resistance.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution extended his condolences to Nasrallah’s family, Hezbollah, and the people of Lebanon, as well as the broader Islamic Ummah. He also announced five days of national mourning in Iran, reflecting the depth of loss felt across the Islamic world.

Khamenei expressed both sorrow and pride in the sacrifices made by Nasrallah and his companions, noting that their martyrdom is a source of honor for the Resistance.

“The blessings of his decades of struggle will not be lost, but will rather inspire even greater unity and determination in the fight against injustice.”

With Nasrallah’s passing, the Resistance Front has lost a towering leader, but his legacy remains alive. As Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized, his martyrdom marks the continuation of the movement, with renewed strength and purpose in the face of ongoing challenges.
