Kigezi Teens Magazine 4th Edition Launched As Award Winners Are Unveiled

The fourth edition of the Kigezi Teens Magazine, themed “Empowering the Youth and Transforming Lives of the Young Generation,” was officially launched on December 21, 2024, at the White Horse Inn in Kabale, Western Uganda. The vibrant event, which attracted over 500 attendees from across the Greater Kigezi region and beyond, was graced by several dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Prof. Charles Kwesiga, Chief Executive Director of the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI).

Speaking as the Guest of Honor, Prof. Kwesiga urged the youth to adopt a positive mindset, embrace discipline, and focus on hard work to secure a brighter future. He emphasized the importance of learning from the journey behind other people’s successes rather than envying their achievements. Prof. Kwesiga pledged continued support for youth empowerment initiatives and lauded the magazine team for their exemplary efforts.

Other notable speakers included:

Hon. Joseph Mutebile, who encouraged youth participation in productive programs as a means of reducing idleness and indiscipline.

Councilor Wilbroad Rwamunahe, an LC5 aspirant, who commended the team’s work and called for youth support in the upcoming elections.

Mrs. Trust Kyomugisha, a radio presenter, who praised the magazine for its inspiring impact on the region’s youth.

Mr. Eddy Nahwera, the Founder of Kigezi Teens Magazine, who extended heartfelt gratitude to sponsors, stakeholders, and Prof. Kwesiga for their unwavering support. He appealed to the government to invest in similar youth-centered initiatives to foster national development.

The event also featured the highly anticipated Kigezi Teens Awards 2024, which recognized outstanding achievements in various fields. A total of 20 categories celebrated excellence among youth, showcasing their creativity, innovation, and talent.

The awards not only spotlighted individual excellence but also encouraged teamwork, discipline, and hard work among the youth of Kigezi and beyond.

Addressing the attendees, Mr. Nahwera emphasized the significance of engaging young people in meaningful activities to create a transformative impact on society. He called for more sponsors and stakeholders to support future editions of the magazine and annual award ceremonies.

The event concluded with a celebratory tone as winners were honored and congratulated, solidifying the role of Kigezi Teens Magazine as a beacon of hope and empowerment for the region’s youth.
