Big Push! EAMV Backs Kabaka Birthday Run with UGX 10M to Tackle HIV/AIDS

Mr. Ben Kavuya hands over a UGX 10M Cheque to Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga

East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has reaffirmed its commitment to public health by contributing UGX 10 million to support the fight against HIV/AIDS through the Buganda Kingdom’s annual Kabaka Birthday Run. The cheque handover took place at Bulange, Mengo, in a moment that underscored the shared dedication to community well-being.

Mr. Ben Kavuya, Chairman of EAMV, presented the contribution to Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda, in a ceremony that went beyond a routine corporate donation. It was a statement of solidarity, reinforcing the critical role of partnerships in addressing public health challenges.

“As a responsible corporate entity, we are more than happy to support health-related initiatives,” he said.

He acknowledged the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the importance of sustained efforts to combat it. “The Buganda Kingdom has been championing a noble cause that affects everyone in our community,” he added.

Katikiro Mayiga welcomed the support with gratitude, noting that EAMV’s contribution would strengthen the Kingdom’s ongoing initiatives.

“I am pleased to receive my long-time friend Mr. Ben Kavuya, the Chairman of East African Medical Vitals,” he said. “We appreciate their support for Kingdom activities and their commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.”

The Kabaka Birthday Run has grown into a significant platform for raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, challenging stigma, and mobilizing communities in the fight against the disease. EAMV’s involvement highlights the importance of private sector engagement in addressing national health concerns. Beyond manufacturing medical consumables, the company has consistently demonstrated a deeper commitment to social responsibility.

Uganda continues to face substantial challenges in the fight against HIV/AIDS, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Despite progress, the need for sustained awareness and support remains critical. Initiatives like the Kabaka Birthday Run play a vital role in education and advocacy, ensuring that affected individuals receive the attention and resources they need.

Dr. Joseph Kigozi, a health expert, underscored the significance of corporate contributions in strengthening public health efforts. “Private sector involvement is crucial in our continued fight against HIV/AIDS,” he said. “Contributions like these go beyond financial support—they help break down barriers, challenge stigma, and bring critical resources to communities that need them most.”

For EAMV, this contribution is part of a broader commitment to improving health outcomes in Uganda. The company continues to demonstrate that corporate success is not just about financial growth but also about creating meaningful impact in the communities it serves.

The cheque handover was more than a financial transaction—it was a reaffirmation of hope, support, and the collective responsibility to build a healthier future for all.
