Tooro kingdom princess Elizabeth Bagaya Akiiki is currently bedridden at International Hospital Kampala (IHK), where she was rushed early this week in critical condition.
Although it is not yet clear what her health problem is exactly as it’s being kept a top secret so far, close family sources revealed to our reporter that Akiiki Bagaya has reportedly been battling a long time bout of cancer. “For now she is being heavily guarded at IHK by her security personnel being a special presidential advisor on culture,so no one is allowed in her room, it’s hard for now to confirm exactly what the doctors have found out as problem but we of course at least that she is been frail with suspected cancer,” the source said.
During her heydays Princess Bagaya, who was a super model, was a close friend of former Presidents Iddi Amin Dada of Uganda and Frederick Chiluba of Zambia.
She was also a renown close Allie of former Africa’s richest man, Chief Abiola of Nigeria. Infact,Bagaya is still held high in the echelons of power corridors in Uganda because she is said to have connected president Museveni in the 80s to chief Abiola who hugely funded the 1981-1886 guerilla struggle.
