There was drama at Buganda Road court in Kampala yesterday when music promoter, Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo, who is facing charges in connection with disturbing the peace of President Museveni protested his trial.

Comedian Bajjo had appeared before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s court with the hope of having the charges against him dismissed due to lack of prosecution evidence as previously promised by the trial magistrate Stella Amabilisi.

However, Bajjo was terribly surprised when his case file was shifted to another magistrate, Marion Mangeni, who informed him that the trial magistrate was not around and thus adjourning the matter to January 13 next year.

“Your honor, I am tired of coming here every time without seeing any progress in the case. The prosecution has no case against me,” Shouted Bajjo as all other court members looked on.

In the previous hearing, Bajjo through his lawyer had asked court to dismiss his case saying the matter was brought way back in June this year thus the state ought to have had the police file.

The state had indicated that they did not have a police file thus seeking for an adjournment which court granted on condition that failure to present her witnesses at the next hearing, the case would be dismissed.

Prosecution contends that during the month of June at various places in Masaka, Mbarara, Ibanda and Kampala, Bajjo incited members of the public to carry out violent acts against the person of the President.

It is further alleged that Bajjo, with intent to disturb the peace and privacy of the President, recorded a video and posted it on social media containing messages that he would overthrow the government before 2021.spy
