The NCHE through the health ministry in July issued guidelines for Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to roll out the distance and electronic learning.

The guidelines are part of measures to ensure that teaching in higher education institutions continues despite the closure of educational institutions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Consequently, the university was allowed to conduct online classes for a period of 12 months or for the duration of the Coronavirus pandemic as will be determined by relevant authorities and it’s part of the few education institutions in the country to have embraced the use of distance learning programmes and open educational applications and platforms that lecturers can use to reach learners remotely and limit the disruption of education.
