Celebrated musician Sheebah Karungi thrilled employees of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) of Thursday during a Corporate gig that was held at Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia’s Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The Ministry of Finance officials were winding up a retreat by the Directorate of Debt and Cash Policy Retreat that had spurn three days at Speke Resort.
Some of the important matters discussed during the retreat include: Innovations to improve negotiation of government borrowing, Integrated financing for the NDP III, Economy and debt management, as well as enhancement of sustainable revenue mobilization to meet government expenditure needs.
Officiating at the retreat, the Minister of State for Planning, David Bahati, urged the staff to work hard towards achieving Uganda’s Vision 2040 of transformation from peasant economy to middle income country.
“Understand and be part of the priorities of the country. Be involved in the business to grow the economy,” said Bahati.
The Acting Director, Debt and Cash Policy, Maris Wanyera also called upon her staff to embrace teamwork and focus on achieving goals and objectives of the Directorate.
As a way of treating staffers to some recreation at the end of the retreat, the organizers invited songbird Sheebah and celebrated comedians led by Alex Muhangi, to entertain the staffers.
As expected, Sheebah didn’t disappoint the audience, our Moles who were at the gig reveal that she put up a very energetic performance that compelled all the Ministry officials to spring up from their seats to get giggly.
The staffers forgot things like GDP and National Debt as they grooved to Sheebah’s popular songs like ‘Nakyuka’, ‘Ninda’, ‘Tevunya’, ‘Empeta’, ‘Ice Cream’ and others.
Shortly after the event, Muhangi tweeted thus; “Queen @Ksheebah1 gave tonight’s party a climax that’s deserving of the 5-star performer she is. These @mofpedU staffers are serious partiers too. What an evening!!FireFire !
