Bobiwine Suspends Presidential Campaigns Over Continued Police Brutality

Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobiwine, the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, has halted his nationwide campaigns over alleged security interference and use of excessive force against his supporters.

This comes after Bobi Wine and his supporters were involved in running battles with Uganda Police Force officers along Kayunga-Mukono road where he was set to hold rallies in Kayunga district.

Police and other security agencies blocked Bobi’s entourage which resulted into the scuffle that ensued and left two people seriously injured and are currently admitted at Mulago national referral hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, we’ve learnt that Bobi Wine’s music producer Dan Magic and EC’s head of security ASP Wilfred Kato were seriously injured in the scuffle.

Later on, Kyagulanyi who had proceeded to Jinja was blocked at New Nile Bridge which prompted the visibly angered Kyagulanyi to call off his campaign until he meets the electoral commission to resolve his matters.
