Monsignor Sikuli Paluku, was speaking during yesterday Sunday service in Mbau parish located on the Beni-Oicha axis where three catholic priests were kidnapped 9 years ago by suspected ADF terrorists.

In his pastoral visit, Bishop Paluku called on the faithful to support the army and its allies engaged in the hunt for ADF rebels who are the perpetrators of the massacres of civilians in the Beni region.

“To build our country, we must work for peace. Woe to those who call themselves sons of God or believers, but commit murders here and there. We are called to support our soldiers and those who support them on all fronts where they give themselves to free our country from the hands of the cutthroats, the massacrators, to build peace “, exhorted Bishop Sikuli Paluku.

The cleric’s call to support the joint military follows after Uganda Peoples Defense Forces and Congo army launched joint military operations against the ADF last Tuesday.

last week, the overall commander of operation shujaa in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo against the ADF terrorists, Maj Gen Muhanga Kayanja said that the assault against the terror group will continue until their will to fight is destroyed.

Gen Kayanja also revealed that the terrorists had suffered serious casualties following UPDF air and artillery fire.
He added that the operation will focus on weakening identified enemy camps in Yayuwa, Tondoli, Beni 1,and Beni 2.
