The shutdown in the east African country was the longest disruption of educational institutions globally due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the United Nations.
However, In order to ensure the safety of the health of its leaners, Delhi Public School Kampala opened for first term 2022 for the 2022/2023 academic year amidst tight COVID-19 SOPs observance for the safety of all learners.
The school is an international school owned by the Ruparelia Group in Kampala. It also offers various international curriculums.
Dr Sudhir then merged Indian School of Uganda with Delhi Public International School to come up with a revamped and custom made Delhi Public School International, one of the institutions using the Indian curriculum in Uganda.

Delhi Public School was officially opened on October 31, 2015 by former education minister Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo. The former minister, during the opening of the school, praised Sudhir for having established a legacy that will stand for a long term. Sudhir owns various schools and a University thereby boosting quality education in Uganda.
