A team of visiting evangelists from the USA has partnered with the local communities to improve education in Buyende District.

Led by Senior Pastor Karl Hofheinz of Radford Baptist Church in Georgia, the team is in Uganda to check on the different projects of interest, minister to their flock, administer medical care with emphasis on dental and eye care among others.

The 16 member team on Wednesday visited New Life Academy Buwaidha in Buyende District and were moved by the challenging learning environment with which the over 170 pupils were attending class. These learners are taught in grass thatched and makeshift classes making it inevitable for the guests to prioritize a partnership.

“It’s our practical experience to see such classes. We appreciate the commitment and determination being exhibited by the teachers, pupils, community and vision bearers of this great initiative and as such,we ought to associate with the project”,he said revealing that God being the sole provider of all human needs will oversee the success and development of the initiative to greater heights.

Flanked by his team members and their Ugandan counterpart,Dr. Richmond Wandera also a Senior Pastor at New Life Church Kireka, the guests were taken on a guided tour of the Nursery School under construction among others.

Dr.Richmond Wandera noted that on his maiden visit to Buwaidha,he realized the need for God’s intervention to change the future of the area through ministering the word of God and education.

“As you all know,God works miraculously.Upon my maiden visit,I noted the need to extend the gospel to God’s people in Buyende as an entry point and am grateful that our vision is bearing fruits generally”.

On his part, the Executive Director of New Life Academy Buwaidha-Eng. Gerald Isabirye noted that for long, their area has struggled academically with only two degrees on record for eternity with the 3rd one coming recently yet the Kyabazinga of Busoga’s campaign has been to fight ignorance, poverty and diseases.

“During our school days,we would trek long distances to go to school and the trend has been like that. However,we got a vision to rewrite our Buyende history by initiating a one stop center with a school, health center, recreation center and the Twezimbe group”,Eng.Gerald revealed noting that with their committed partners, all is good so far.

“We are on track and everything is moving as planned. The community has been supportive of this project in response to the Kyabazinga’s campaign of the three concerns as we look forward to greater heights”.

Area RDC,Dennis Balwaniregha commended the vision bearers of the project for prioritizing education and health services.

“On behalf of government,I want to commend the initiators of this multipurpose project and commit our total support towards its success. With quality education and readily available health services in our midst, the standard of living for our people is bound to change. This project will even have a multiplier effect not only in the nearby communities but Buyende District as a whole”, the President’s representative noted.

Reality on ground is that learners walk close to four kilometers to access Nakabira Primary School which is the nearby school whereas patients trek close to six kilometers to access health care services at Buyende Health centre III which does not admit patients.

This project, which seats on over 20 acres of land upon completion will have a Nursery,Primary and Secondary schools with cost sharing between the school and end users being part of its operations.Other amenities will be availed gradually.
