A team of Joint Security Forces are investigating the latest attack on police after armed gun riding a motorcycle ambushed Kensington Police Station near Kensington Apartments in Kyanja, a Kampala suburb.
According to eyewitnesses around the place, the incident happened last night on Sunday November 13, 2022.
“We heard heavy gunfire at the police post,” said a resident of Kensington apartments who preferred anonymity to speak freely. “It was a serious exchange of fire between the attackers and police,” he added.
Security officials at the scene of crime said two gunmen stormed the police post and opened fire at the cops on duty. The attackers were repelled before fleeing on their motorcycle, and fortunately, no officer was injured during the exchange of bullets.
Officials further said since the area is covered by CCTV, this will help in identifying the attackers or the number plate of the motorcycle.
