At least 211 commando trainees at Ruhengyere Barracks in Mbarara City have graduated in various skills and tactics acquired during their rigorous ‘Q’ course, successfully making them part of the Commando Brigade of the UPDF.
The brigade is a specialised unit that is tasked with carrying out a variety of missions, including counterterrorism, hostage rescue, and counterinsurgency operations.
While presiding over the ceremony, the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, encouraged the commandos to foster a strong and meaningful relationship with civilians.
He emphasised the significance of ethical behaviour in their roles as commandos by maintaining a high level of professionalism and fitness at all times.
