A medical doctor at Nsambya Hospital has been suspended after he allegedly forged a medical report confirming that Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine, had been shot in the leg.
The senior medical officer reportedly received Shs5 million from Bobi Wine’s group to secure a detailed medical report claiming he had sustained injuries from the gunshot during the Tuesday, September 3rd, scuffle in Bulindo, Kiira municipality, with police.
According to a source, the doctor had also recommended Bobi Wine for a sophisticated treatment, preferably in the United States.
As their 40 days would arrive, this irregularity leaked to the administration, thanks to a female medical intern who tipped the hospital authority that immediately conducted due diligence.
It was later discovered that the doctor in question had fabricated medical reports ascertaining that the NUP leader was indeed shot and injured.
The eyewitness account states that following the bribe, Bobi Wine was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he was placed on a cardiac bed and connected to various monitoring machines.
“He managed to get the doctor to plaster cast (commonly referred to as “ekicement”) typically used for fractured bones, leading to claims that he was seeking urgent medical treatment abroad due to alleged bullet wounds,” the source revealed.
When the hospital authorities unearthed his stunt, they immediately ordered that Bobi Wine be uninstalled from the UCU and also discharged in a bid to rescue the hospital’s reputation.
Following the intervention by the hospital authority, Bobi Wine was discharged with only a minor plaster on a small wound, contradicting the serious narrative that he had been shot and severely injured.
This incident has sparked widespread discussion locally and internationally about the integrity of political narratives, with several Ugandans bashing Bobi Wine for a stunt gone wrong.source the explorer
