Good Samaritan: Aspiring MP Dedan Mubangizi Gives Out Free Medical Services To Buwekula South

The community of Buwekula South constituency has expressed heartfelt gratitude to aspiring Member of Parliament, Dedan Mubangizi, for his generosity and commitment to improving healthcare services in the area.

Mubangizi, who is vying for the parliamentary seat on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, sponsored a three-day free medical camp in Kibyamirizi, which began on July 12, 2024.

The camp garnered a large turnout, with many residents benefiting from free treatment for various ailments, including eye and dental problems.

This initiative marks a significant step towards addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the residents of Buwekula South, a region that has long struggled with limited access to quality medical services.

Kawuma Charles, the representative of Mubende District Health Officer (DHO), played a crucial role in the camp.

He not only oversaw the medical treatments but also took the opportunity to educate the community on disease prevention methods.

His efforts to raise awareness about health and hygiene are expected to have a lasting impact on the community’s overall well-being.

The free medical camp has concluded on Sunday (today), July 14, 2024, after three days of providing essential health services.

Residents received treatment for a wide range of medical conditions, with particular attention given to common yet often neglected issues such as eye and dental health.

The camp also offered basic health check-ups, medications, and consultations, all free of charge.

The success of the camp can be attributed to Mubangizi’s vision and dedication.

As an aspiring Member of Parliament, Mubangizi has demonstrated a deep understanding of the needs of his constituents.

His commitment to improving healthcare access aligns with the broader goals of the NRM, which has prioritized health sector reforms in recent years.

Deedan noted that there is increased cases of eye complications among the voters which he promised to focus on while continuing with his health drive.

Over 10000 patients received treatment in the 3 days of the medical camp.

Residents of Buwekula South have lauded Mubangizi for his efforts. Many community members expressed their appreciation, noting that the free medical camp had a profound impact on their lives. For some, it was the first time they had access to professional medical care. This initiative has not only alleviated immediate health concerns but also fostered a sense of hope and support within the community.

One of the standout features of the camp was its inclusivity.

The organizers ensured that the medical services were accessible to all residents, regardless of age, gender, or socio-economic status. This inclusive approach was evident in the diverse turnout, which included children, elderly individuals, and people with disabilities.

Kawuma Charles emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare during his educational sessions. He highlighted simple yet effective practices such as regular handwashing, proper nutrition, and timely vaccinations. These sessions were well-received by the community, many of whom were eager to learn and implement these practices in their daily lives.

In addition to the immediate benefits of the medical camp, Mubangizi has outlined plans to extend similar initiatives to all sub-counties in Buwekula South.

He has already taken concrete steps towards this goal, including the purchase of an ambulance to serve the community.

By focusing on healthcare, he has touched upon a critical aspect of development that directly impacts the quality of life of his constituents.

The success of the free medical camp has set a positive precedent for future initiatives. It has demonstrated the potential for impactful community-driven healthcare programs and highlighted the importance of collaboration between political leaders, healthcare professionals, and the community.

Mubangizi’s efforts have not only provided immediate relief but have also laid the groundwork for sustained improvements in healthcare access and quality.
