Col.Katabazi Tips RDCs,DISOs Against Intrigue,Internal Bickering & Corruption

Col. Emmy Katabazi, the Deputy Director General of the Internal Security Organization (ISO), has cautioned Resident District Commissioners and District Internal Security Officers against bickering.

Col. Katabazi was on Friday, September 20th, 2024, addressing RDCs and DISOs from Central Uganda during a retreat held at the at the Maya Nature Resort in Wakiso district.

According to Katabazi, internal bickering among district officials, specifically RDCs, DISOs, and their deputies, respectively, is dangerous and frustrates efforts to deliver services to local people.

He implored them to understand revolutionary methods of work and embrace teamwork in a bid to successfully deliver tasks assigned by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Col. Katabazi emphasized that it is crucial for RDCs and DISOs to thoroughly understand monitoring and analysis tools, noting that without this knowledge, they will struggle to identify issues.

“If you cannot identify the problems, you cannot prescribe the right solutions or recommend the appropriate strategies to decision-makers,” he cautioned.

He further encouraged them to immediately adopt the proper use of technology and social media, stating, “Today’s enemy is not in the bush but on social media. Therefore, we must engage and be active where the battles are being fought.”

Col. Katabazi also referred to the ongoing ‘ZAIDI Operation,’ an app developed by ISO to register Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries, and highlighted ISO’s growing technological capacity, affirming that the organization is now equipped to handle modern threats.

Speaking at the same event, the Director of Manifesto Implementation in the office of the President, Wills Bashasha, challenged the participants to fully understand the government manifesto.

“You cannot track and measure what you do not know,” he stated.

He further stressed that government monitoring cannot be done from the comfort of an office. “You must go to the field to conduct actual monitoring,” he added.

The three-day retreat was meant to expose newly appointed RDCs and other officials to effectively understand their roles.(explorer news).
