Uganda people’s congress (UPC) has asked the parents to create enough time for their children, nurture them as third-term holiday is around the clock.

While addressing the press at Uganda house,Sharon Arach Oyat UPC Spokesperson revealed that holidays are full of promises and temptations, especially for the Girl child.

“parents should emphasize a high degree of maturity and discipline of the girl child noting that failure to do so may lead to early child pregnancies”,she said.

Ayat added “the temptation to indulge in mindless entertainment or spend excessive time on digital devices may be strong, Sharon Arach urges students to exercise moderation and make mindful choices. By doing so, they can ensure that their holidays are enjoyable but also rewarding and meaningful”.

UPC encouraged all students to enjoy their holidays responsibly and/or engage in skillful activities since the (holidays) generate a lot of excitement from the rigorous school routine work.

The candidates often organize parties outside the school arrangements and these parties are a recipe for negative influences, which should be discouraged.

Ayat said that parents and guardians should engage in open and honest communication with their children. Create a safe and non-judgmental environment where they feel comfortable discussing their experiences, concerns, and aspirations.

“UPC is fully aware of all these related challenges for our children during holidays and therefore, urges parents and guardians to take a keen interest in monitoring and shaping the behavior of our children while at home. This requires commitment, sacrifice, and care at both family and societal levels. These are our future leaders who ought to be well-molded,”she noted.
