Two Senior Police Officers Rot In Kireka Cells Over Spying For Rwanda

Two senior Police officers are rotting in special police detention for more two months after being apprehended on the allegations of spying for Rwanda security agencies.

Our highly placed sources have discovered that  ASP Benon Akandwanaho, a Community Liaison Officer for Kiira Police Station in Wakiso District, who was arrested before Covid-19 main lockdown is feared to be languishing in dungeons of special investigations unit at Kireka without any trial.

In the highly guarded security installation, ASP Akandwanaho has been denied a chance to access  any of his lawyers.

Our sources have intimated to us that Akandwanaho was apprehended by a team of CMI officers in collaboration with Regional Police Commander Kampala South who had summoned him to report to his office for a new assignment.

“when he reported to his boss’s office, he found  mean looking CMI officers waiting for him . They immediately whisked him to special interrogation centre,” a source revealed .

He was arrested alongside his friend ASP Frank Sabiiti, who was also picked from his duty station in Mutukula. The two police officers are currently detained into two different police cells.

Our intelligence team has established that the two cops were detained after CMI got information that they were close friends of UPDF pilot Phillip Akunda who was arrested on 10th March from his Nakasongola airforce detach on the allegations of sharing sensitive military information to Kigali government.

ASP Akandwanaho and Sabiiti were put under serious military interrogation at CMI head quarters .

When we contacted CP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson for a comment on the fate of the two officers, he couldn’t pick our calls by press time.
