Minister Janet M7 Responds On UNEB Decision To Release 2019 UPE Results At Kampala Parents’ School

The Minister For Education and Sports who doubles as the First lady Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni has responded to a query by legislators on why Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Chose to release the Uganda Primary Leaving Examinations (UPE) exams from Kampala Parents’ School.

UNEB is set to release results of the 2019 PLE on Friday January 17, 2020, 11:00am at Kampala Parents’ School which sparked off confusion between some individuals.

However, the Minister during a Thursday January 16, 2019 Plenary responded to a query from Hon. Robert Musoke of Budiope West who was furiously disturbed by the decision of Education Ministry and UNEB to use Kampala Parents school rather than any other Government’s Office.

Mama Janet in her response told the plenary that Kampala Parents is a primary school which did not charge UNEB neither the Ministry Of Education anything. “Kampala Parents is a primary school, it doesn’t charge us, we are not paying anything to release the results there” She said.

She added that UNEB normally use the President’s Office Halls but it had problems with Air conditioning thus deciding to look for other places where they could go and not pay. “We normally use the president’s office hall because we are strictly not willing to pay for halls when we have Government halls, but it has had problems with it’s air conditioning and you don’t have to put people in areas where they have no free air. So we were looking for other places where we can go and yet not pay. That’s how we got into Kampala Parents’. I don’t know the difference in Government Primary school or private when we are not paying for our being there. What’s the difference? Nothing! So that’s the reason”

Kampala parents’ school which is under Rupaleria Group is on international level but follows a local curriculum, situated along lugogo by pass and has an enrolment of over 3000 pupils with 130 well trained teachers and over 150 non-teaching staff members. The pupils come from all over the world.

The school has been and continues to be an academic hub of Uganda because of the balanced curriculum offered.

According to the administrators, The school mission is “to facilitate first-class education and civilisation to children with and from outside Uganda with the hope that there will be a better world community tomorrow“.

The school anthem clearly indicates that children, teachers and parents of Kampala Parents’ School glorify the lord and their prayers ascend on high to archieve school goals and aspirations.

He told our reporter that Kampala Parents is a great school in that all facilities required by a pupil are available and these include;
